Please donate to our Food Drive and bring canned food with you to the pick up location: if you bring 5 cans per person you will receive one free hour of limousine service when you purchase 2 hours and if you bring in 10 cans per person you will receive 5 hours of service for the price of 3 – that’s 2 hours of FREE limousine service…..but most importantly you are helping others.
For every 5 cans you donate you will also be entered again to win a $100 Visa Gift Card as well as other prizes……If you don’t want to bring in food and you would rather make a tax deductable donation, there will be Envelopes for you to put it in. For every $1 you donate The Food Bank for Monterey County will distribute $6 worth of food!!
The Food Bank for Monterey County, a certified Feeding America food bank, it is the largest supplier of emergency food in Monterey County. They distribute 5 million pounds of food annually. The national image of our area is one of wealth and beauty. Yet poverty and food insecurity exist in the "Salad Bowl of the World." The Food Bank for Monterey County is facing an unprecedented need. In the wake of the nationwide economic crisis, the Food Bank is serving more than double the number of families each month and needs your help.

The Food Bank for Monterey County needs these nutritious foods:
Canned meats (i.e., tuna, chicken, salmon)
Canned and boxed meals (i.e., soup, chili, stew, macaroni and cheese)
Peanut butter
Canned or dried beans and peas, (i.e., black, pinto, lentils)
Pasta, rice
Cereal
Canned fruits
percent fruit juice (canned, plastic or boxed) -
To ensure food safety, we cannot use:
items in glass containers
rusty or unlabeled cans
perishable items
homemade items
noncommercial canned or packaged items
alcoholic beverages, mixes or soda
open or used items
outdated items The Food Bank also gratefully accepts donations of holiday turkeys, fresh or frozen, at their Salinas warehouse: 815 W. Market St.
